Who Makes the Adapted Vehicle?
Qualified Workshop / Modifier
Performs work on a specific vehicle within its scope through qualified personnel, and is responsible for the quality, inspection and documentation of that work.
AMKAN WAV
Acts as the WAV Scheme Owner for qualification, quality, traceability, audit and surveillance; it does not perform workshop modifications.
Government / Regulatory Authorities
Retain their statutory processes and decisions for inspection, acceptance, registration and approvals.
Qualification under an AMKAN scheme does not amount to government approval or statutory acceptance of a vehicle.
One Vehicle, One File, A Reviewable History
Each vehicle within the scheme has a file linked to its original vehicle identification number (VIN). The VIN remains the primary identifier, while scheme records hold evidence of the adaptations performed.
Technical Solution
The design, model and revision of the solution and its associated technical file.
Modifier and Job
Who carried out the work and what was fitted or changed on the particular vehicle.
Quality and Records
Inspection findings, outputs and evidence that preserve the history of work and responsibilities.
Traceable Status
A scheme marker can link to the vehicle file and status; it does not replace the original VIN.
Traceability comes from a record that explains the work, its responsibilities and status, not from the marker itself.
